Cornwall Council – The unitary Council covers all other services in Cornwall not carried out by Callington Town Council including highways, housing, environment services, education, social services, public health etc. Cornwall Council operate a One Stop Shop in the Town Hall which provides signposting to Council services. It is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.30am to 1.30pm. The One Stop Shop is CLOSED on Thursdays.

Education – There are two schools in Callington. Callington Primary School is in Saltash Road and takes in students up to Year 6. Callington Community College is located on Launceston Road and takes secondary school age students from Year 7 up to Year 13.

Devon & Cornwall Police provide Police cover for the area. In an emergency call 999. For non urgent calls dial 101. The officers responsible for the neighbourhood are Sgt Julie Finn, the team leader, PC Jen Williams and PCSO Joanne Addems who also cover the adjoining neighbourhood of Calstock.

Area covered by Callington StationThe area covers the main road, A388, from St. Mellion to Wooda Bridge, near Treburley and the A390 Gunnislake to St. Ive Square. In total, Callington Fire Station covers about 100 square miles.

In an emergency, call 999. Otherwise Callington Health Centre provides local health services in the town. It is part of the wider Tamar Valley Health Clinic. The Health Centre is located in Haye Road. If you have a medical emergency you can call them on 01579 382666 or via their website www.tamarvalleyhealth.co.uk . The nearest Community hospitals with minor injury clinics are located at Liskeard and Launceston while the nearest major Hospital with Accident and Emergency cover is Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

Callington Library is located in the grounds of the Callington Community College and can be accessed via Coronation Road. It is open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.30am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 1pm. It is closed to the public on Mondays and Thursdays.

Baby Bounce (free) for pre-toddlers, Tuesday from 11:00am – our rhymetime activities designed to encourage parents and carers to share rhymes, stories and songs with children.

Every Friday 10:30am – 11:00am we hold a storytime session. Stories, rhymes and songs (free) for under-5’s and their carers.
- Callington Foodbank
We are now a collection point and welcome donations of non perishable food items.
- Beginners Computer Lessons
We run Beginners Computer Courses at selected Libraries. If you would like to attend just ask in your local library.
- Fire safety advice clinic
Mark Smith a local fireman with Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, holds a monthly drop-in advice clinic at the library on the last Tuesday of every month between 10.30am and 12.30pm. Free fire safety advice for your home and information about the home checks that are available
- Knit and Natter
Tuesday, from 2:00pm. A chance to knit, natter and crochet and learn new skills with others. Suitable for all ages. Free.
